I need to spend more time writing, but life gets in the way, and not necessarily bad, just life. Let's see, what has happened since the last time I have lifted my fingers and shared some of my life.
I went out, yep, that's right, I went out for my thirtieth birthday. And I'm not just talking about going to a movie or out to eat, I actually went out bar hopping, well does it count that we only made it to two bars? We did stay up way past our bedtime, 3 am. That hasn't happened in a long time. Fun times were had, a little bit of drinking also took place. A couple of birthday shots were bought, I didn't have a hang over, I guess I am now able to tell what my limit is. I was a little anxious about that, I haven't been "out" since 2007 and I was literally 9 months pregnant, so no drinking went on then, and before that was in 2005, my twenty fifth birthday, where I ended up being the designated driver. Ok, now before you get all "wow, does this girl ever have any fun, loosen up a bit, will you". I do have fun, I do have an occasional drink, I hang out with friends quite a bit, I am pretty much passing the age of going to bars and getting tore up, don't know what happened drunk.
I did have a great time last week, don't get me wrong, I had a wonderful time, but it is something that I will probably be doing on a yearly basis, not as in college, where it was several times a week. I have a family to think about, and that is my priority, not partying it up, but it was still a lot of fun.
I want to thank my sweet mom, dearest friends, and wonderful husband who helped set the night up and gave me this wonderful time. Oh yes, and my husband watched the girls all night long, first time, and with a bum foot, and he did a wonderful job. The house was still standing when I arrived home...I kid, I kid. He did great and relieved any apprehension that I previously had on leaving for overnight stays.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-56804902281502735092010-11-30T20:25:00.000-08:002010-11-30T20:25:29.026-08:00Shopping (day 63)I am almost finished with my Christmas shopping! Yay, so exciting. Now comes the wrapping, I actually enjoy it, I find it relaxing. Today I scored some great buys. I found some great kids' digital cameras for $9.99. normally $70 from JCPenney's.
It was supposed to be an online sale only, but they were backordered till the 20th. No way would I have been able to get those before Christmas so I called the customer service center. Through lots of discussion, some begging, they were able to honor the online price in the store. This is not something that they normally do, but I beleive the woman could tell I was desperate (not really), but she was able to make it happen. Luckily, my husband was nearby and was able to pick them up a short while later.
They aren't bad, they are definitely kids, but they are pretty nice, and the kids should be beyond excited to receive digital camcorders. I would be excited for sure. Anyways, I love great deal and always look for them.

And I leave you with Some static from my best friend's daughter's birthday party this weekend. Electrifying!!!
(Day 62)Thanksgiving, the beginning of my favorite time of year. Get togethers, family, fun, food, birthdays, and shopping. My family kicked it off right, with Thanksgiving at my dad's house. The girls had a great time with my brothers and sister in laws and of course their oh so fun cousins. We then made the small trek to my best friend's house to get ready for Black Friday.

My husband and I knew we wanted to get the girls a trampoline for Christmas, but we were kinda scared of the pricetag. Luckily, their were some great sales, so we staked our claim and were victorious. We were able to purchase one (barely) and get some other great goodies. I was able to strike off some of my names from the Christmas list! Yay! We also made it through the night and had a lot of fun.

Friday, we went to my mom's house for yet another Turkey Day Feast, and boy was it ever. I don't think I have ever eaten so much in my life, but it was wonderful. We again got to hang out with family and make more great memories.

I also turned 30 yesterday. Yes, I have been dreading that number, and even though I know it really isn't that big of a deal, it is a little strange to think that I am now in my 30s!! We didn't really do anything big for it, but apparently there will be some festivities next weekend. I can't wait.

So today was our last day in my hometown, and we spent it celebrating my best friend's daughter's birthday. Crazy huh, we have the same birthday. It was great! The girls had a great time, we celebrated and not too many tears were shed. We drove home after and am not ready to rest.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-88813974820000858982010-11-23T19:59:00.000-08:002010-11-23T19:59:33.031-08:00Cute Kids (Day 61)I had a photo shoot today at the park. Yesterday, I took photos in the park of the kids. I haven't been able to really get good pictures of the sisters together since the baby was, well, a baby. Now I get flashes of one kid getting up, while the other frowns or makes other slight faces. I would set the older babe down, then place the babe next to her sister, get into position to take the perfect photo, then bam, she's up and running.

Which in turn makes for an out of focus, not so great photo. I have decided to make my girls' stockings this year. We had one for our older daughter. A plain, run of the mill, store bought stocking. We didn't get the baby one last year, not that it mattered, there was not much to put into it, but this year, I want them to have ones like I had growing up.

Putting the stockings up in anticipation of that jolly ol' elf stuffing it full of goodies is one of my great Christmas memories. My mom hand made all of our stockings and added great details and beadwork. I loved my stocking. When it was time to decorate the house for Christmas we couldn't wait to get to the box with the stockings. We would carefully pull them out of the box, go over every detail of the work my mom put into it, lightly graze my fingers over the beads, make sure nothing was out of place. We would clammer to the mantle and arrange the stockings in our birth order.

When Christmas Eve would arrive we would go to our church pageant anticipating what would be waiting at home for us, we knew for sure Santa made his early stops to our house. Once we rushed through the door and clammered for the tree, the first thing we noticed was the stockings were carefully placed under the tree, bulging at the seams, full of goodies.

These are the types of memories that I want to create for my children. So I found some stocking patterns and am hoping they turn out half as great as the ones my mom made for me and my brothers. It is a ton of work, but surprisingly very stress relieving. I have been working on Bailey's for the past several days and will post photos once I am done.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-84936018771793759822010-11-16T18:27:00.000-08:002010-11-18T14:42:18.679-08:00Where'd it go?(day 57)November, it's halfway over, how, when...what? Where has this year gone? It's been an amazing year, it's almost 2011, hard to believe, kinda scary. I am not ready for it, I am not ready for next week, let alone next year. Can we somehow stop time, right now, not get any older, not watch or kids have to grow up, let them stay kids a little longer? Can we?

My oldest is on her way to 4, youngest creeping to 2. Wow! Scary, sad, worriesom. In less than two years I'll have to watch her scamper off to kindergarten...I don't want this. Let's stop time, stay young, don't grow old, have fun, smile, be young in body and mind. Let's hold on to 2010 just a little longer.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-13684254155668681452010-11-14T19:50:00.000-08:002010-11-14T19:50:40.841-08:00Wonderful Day (day 56)
Today I had a great photoshoot! I am really excited about it. Today, my mom and I went to scope out the location (I have never been there, but my friend has) and see where we could take some great photos.

Well when we got to the park and we are extremely, pleasantly surprised! This park is amazing, which in turn will make the shoot amazing. I also scored some great props at a local thrift store for next to nothing. I can't wait to see how the photos turn out! Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-15241771293268346232010-11-12T19:44:00.000-08:002010-11-12T19:44:03.006-08:00Surgery (day 54)Today was my husband's surgery. All went wonderfully well, but it definitely was a long day. He was scheduled to go in at 1:30, but the surgery didn't start until after 3:30, yech. It wouldn't have been so bad, except I had the girls with me. So I had to find ways go entertain them until he was done with surgery.

We hit up the mall, and left without buying anything (lots of will power), then went to Toys R Us, just for fun to see if I could scope out what the girls wanted, go figure, they wanted EVERYTHING!! Also left there with my money still intact, go me! Then actually did buy something for my husband at Best Buy, a video game since he has to be propped up for the next couple of weeks and hasn't played video games since July, soooooo, I got one for him. I'll probably be kicking myself in the next couple of weeks, hopefully I won't have to pry it from his fingers.

But all in all, not such a horrible day, hopefully, my husband heals fast and does well in the next few weeks.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-52279375651582885402010-11-11T18:38:00.000-08:002010-11-11T18:38:32.877-08:00Cuties (day 53)Whew, what a day! Boxes, paper towel rolls, pots, pans, tupperware, spoons, anything. You know what else they like? Shaving cream, that's right, plain old, run of the mill shaving cream.

The kids had a blast today. I put them at the table, rolled up their sleaves, put a paper towel over their shirt, squirted shaving cream in front of them and let them have at it. And boy did they have a blast. At first some of the little ones were reluctant to touch the white foam, so I put their fingers in it and dragged them around. When they saw that it was ok to touch they started to go crazy. The baby tried to put it in her mouth, one small taste was enough to know that it was not edible.

We played in that Barbasol for awhile, the kids pushed it around the table, slapped at it, blew on it, had a great time squealing and enjoying the texture. By the time we were supposed to clean up the kids were exhausted, I was exhausted, and the dining room was a mess! So, if you are ever looking for a cheap but outrageously fun activity (even if it is a little/lot messy), get out the shaving cream and watch the kids have the time of their life!
The kids were great, they had a fun day. We played hard, baked cookies, colored, read books, you know, the usual. What was not so much fun was the news that my husband is going to have to have major foot surgery sometime this week.

I know, more medical bills. Things were just getting back on track, stuff was getting paid, then bam, more bills. I thought that we were done with all our out of pocket payments, but our oop was a lot more than I thought. Soooo, more bills. I am grateful that my husband has a job were they can put him on light duty and what not, it is just really hard though. I am trying to find the silver lining, and I know it will appear, just have to keep looking for it.

On a lighter note, I am getting ready to do some photo shoots this weekend. I love doing these shoots, they are fun, and I get to meet a lot of really cool people. They are great to help releave stress, and just enjoy my day without having to worry about the day to day stuff. This one is a Christmas Shoot in the park. Can't wait!Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-37542051037816956182010-11-07T19:47:00.000-08:002010-11-07T19:47:17.516-08:00Tired (day 50)Wow, this weekend was LONG, but a lot of fun! Yesterday, we went to my nephews' first and second birthday party, then went to a good friend's daughter's first birthday party! Needless to say, the girls were worn out, as were my husband and I.

We started the day with a small trip to Target and JCPenney to get a few items. We knew the parties were next and luckily the baby slept all the way back to the house and about thirty minutes in the car in the driveway (don't worry, we stayed outside with her!) Once she woke up we made the one mile trek to the first party.
The girls had a blast, they had a bouncy house and a barrel train that was ridden several times. We played, ate, played some more for several hours. The girls did not want to leave, they didn't know they were going to another party later that afternoon. So we packed them up, got them into the truck and set off for the next birthday.

The girls took a great nap on the way to the next party and actually slept for another hour in the truck before getting out (again they were supervised, no worries). The baby woke up in a pretty good mood, she immediately went to everyone and had a great old time, my older girl was not such an easy wake up. She had to get adjusted to the idea of waking up and being around a totally new crowd of people. When she finally came out of her shell she ended up having a blast. We actually did not get home until after 11pm, of course the baby went to sleep well before then, but my older girl did not. This was definitely a special treat since she goes to sleep around 7pm normally. Like I said, it was a crazy busy day, but we had a blast!

Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-12447146623914362692010-11-05T21:13:00.000-07:002010-11-05T21:13:11.477-07:00Counting My Blessing (Day 49)I am so blessed. I am sitting here thanking God for everything I have. I just came across a blog about a young family that lost their 9 month old to an infection the other day. It all happened so quickly. I couldn't even read it all, I just couldn't, too horrible. It got me thinking, I am so extremely blessed. Yeah, we have had some (very small) medical problems in the past, that have led to money issues that are working out, but other than that WE ARE BLESSED. My daughter's problems are fixing themselves, and she is great now. The girls are beautiful, my husband is amazing, we are able to provide for our family, and we are blessed.

I have to keep telling myself that, and after coming across such a sad blog, and such sad things that have happened to others, I know, we are so fortunate and have such a nice wonderful life. Sometimes things don't go my way, or things happen in my family life and I question it, but nothing that can't easily be solved. I am now looking at the big picture in life. Not the small things that might make for a not so great day, but the wonderful things that I have been given. Today is a good, no make that great day. I am going to start thanking God a lot more and be more grateful for what is given to me. (sorry, thinking to myself). Anyways, I was playing dress up with the kids today and was able to catch a few pictures of them with their new wigs on. Sorry it was taken with my phone, I know that if I were to go get the camera the moment would have passed.
So what better time to stock up on costumes than the days after Halloween? So I decided to take a trip to the store down the road and find some bargains.

I was kinda worried that they would be pretty picked through when I arrived since Halloween was a couple of days ago. To my surprise there were a ton of costumes, unfortunately most were pretty large. I did find some that would work, but I think the best part are going to be the wigs!

I can't wait till tomorrow to show the girls, particularly my oldest. I know she will squeal with joy once she sees what goodies she got. I will post lots of pictures (hopefully) tomorrow of the girls in their new gear!

I still have a lot going on lately so the post have been slightly vague and boring, but soon they should pick up and be more interesting, I think. Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-78583712318421998432010-11-01T20:14:00.000-07:002010-11-01T20:14:24.425-07:00Halloween part II (day 46)Yesterday I posted a bunch of photos from the day, today I want to post what happened in more words than photos.
So anyways, yesterday we had our second annual Halloween Party and Hay Ride. My husband and I decided that we wanted to do something for the kids. So we spent the morning cleaning, getting things together, cookies, cupcakes, snacks, you know, fun stuff.
Well, the party was supposed to start at 2:30, people started showing up around 3. You know how it is, everyone had to get the kids dressed and ready for an evening of fun.
The kids were let loose and played till their hearts were content, they loved decorating cookies, eating cupcakes and playing on the playscape. We set up the Wii Just Dance, and they worked up quite a sweat. If you have a Wii then you should definitely invest in the game, it's great, and a nice workout. I had some other activities planned, but you know how plans are changed around when their are kids involved.
Well the evening progressed and it was time for the hay ride. Now this was our baby's first time on a hay ride and you can bet she had a blast. I think the wind was something she never expected, she would let the wind whip through her barely there hair and yell at the wind. We got to the houses, where let out, and started on the trick or treating.
I put the girls in their wagon and off we went. We would get to a house, the girls would get out, the oldest would take off with the rest of the group while I helped the younger up to the door. She got really good at holding her bucket. At one point I tried to help her hold her bucket. She looked at me and kinda growled and snatched it away. It was actually really cute.
So we hit up some houses, I guess a lot of people weren't expecting trick or treaters at 6:30 because a lot of lights and unopened doors were left behind.
It was a lot of fun, the girls had the best time ever. Sorry the post is so short, it has been a crazy few weeks with photos, and life. Hopefully, it will start slowing down really soon, until then...tootaloo!Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-84591473614127010412010-10-31T20:23:00.000-07:002010-10-31T20:23:00.211-07:00Happy Halloween (day 45)

We had a festival at our house, went on a hay ride, then trick or treating, the baby's first real Halloween, and she had a ball. She refused to let me hold the candy bucket, and tried to give her candy to the people we were trick or treating at! My oldest had the best day ever, everyone is in bed and I am about to follow suite! Her beautiful little girl is turning one in a few days so I did a shoot. Alex was so much fun to photograph, that little grin, and beautiful face. We had a great time, I would follow her around, singing songs offtune, she would smile, I would snap away, then more chasing would pursue. Here are a few of the shots from earlier.
My oldest is so excited, this year she gets it, she knows she is going to go to houses, knock on doors, and get some CANDY. What she doesn't know is that she won't get that much of it, maybe a few pieces spread out over days. But that doesn't detract away from the fact that it will be so much fun.

So we are all looking forward to trick or treating and having a fun filled day at the house. Today was also good. We had more fun activities with the kids, we made Halloween cookies. I have this great box of cookie cutters that I got awhile ago. I have been attempting to use all of them spread out over time. So we made cat, bat, pumpkins, moon, and ghost cookies. The kids love to watch the kitchenaid stir the batter. The kids then get to chose which cookie cutters they like better and press down on the dough to create their shapes. The kids grinned and giggles and the cookies went into the oven.

While we waited for the cookies to bake the kids played, then help me stir the food coloring into the icing mix. Their eyes lit up when the red and yellow mixed to create orange, the orange, blue, and green mash to become black. They loved it.

Next week will be the start of Thanksgiving month, and boy do I have lots to be thankful for, a loving husband, beautiful kids, great jobs, and more. I know there are things that need to improve, but who's life is so perfect that improving isn't in the cards.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3116497672697205308.post-27513131088561244932010-10-28T15:48:00.000-07:002010-10-28T15:48:23.203-07:00Unbelievable, a must read! (Day 43)So today royally stunk, I mean, bottom of the barrel, pinch your nose and gag stink. A few weeks ago I blogged about the fact that my HP Laptop broke. I contacted HP, they said it was under warranty and sent me out a box, to my house to send the computer back in to.

A week goes by, I give them a call and ask what is going on, they tell me that the problem I am having is because the place where the computer gets plugged into power was damaged, and not covered under warranty so they were going to send it back. I called my brother and he told me that it could possibly be fixed, and I figured I could at least get the files that were on it backed up. I had photos of my kids and other important documents that did not get backed up when the computer broke.

Fast forward to today, I decide to give HP a call, I have not heard back from them, and still did not have the computer in my hands. I get ahold of customer service rep in India, give him my crucial information, and you want to know what he tells me. "Your address is ____FLORIDA, and you have already received your computer and it was signed by C. Price" WHAT!!!!! "NO, I live in TEXAS, My name is Sara, and I don't know anyone in Florida". "well ma'am someone named C. Price (I thought they told me the name was Charlie because they kept saying C as in Charlie) signed for it, and since it was signed for it is out of our hands. Talk about LIVID. This computer has all my financial information, photos, and important documents on it, and is in the hands of a complete stranger states away.

So I try to compose myself and ask what they are going to do, they said they would contact Fed Ex and give me a call in a couple of days, BS, I wanted to speak to someone NOW. They told me that their supervisor would not be in until 8am pacific time (11am our time). So I hang up and call back again in hopes to speak to someone higher up. I get a csrep, and the same stuff, they tell me there is nothing they can do and there were no supervisors. So I call back one more time and I was getting to the point where you could probably see steam come out of my ears. I get on the phone, they tell me that they have contacted Fed Ex, and since the package was signed for they can't return it!!! Then the kicker...they tell me the only thing I can do was go to FLORIDA AND PICK IT UP MYSELF!!!! So at this point I am crying, I can't even raise my voice I am so angry. I had to walk to the dining room, I could still see the kids, but they didn't know I was upset. I take a few ok lots of deep breaths because I am about to lose it. I tell them I want my computer back and I want it back ASAP. They again tell me that I will have to go and pick it up myself. So let me get this straight, they want me to go to a stay hundreds of miles away, ring the doorbell to a complete strangers house, and ask my laptop back...doubtful. So I hang up on this imbecile, and call back again. This time I get a supervisor, or something that is supposed to be like it. She gives me a name, which I don't understand, and I ask for an email address which she says she doesn't have. I called BS. I give her my information again, she proceeds to tell me that it is MY FAULT that they sent it to the wrong address. She said I must have called in and changed the shipping address, why would I do that. I don't know anyone in Florida and why in the world would I send MY computer to a stranger with my last name. So I ask them to connect me to someone in the United States that I can talk to, they tell me there is no one, I have to deal with them, and no one else!!!

So at this point I am spent, my lovely wonderful brother calls me and tells me he found the number to corporate office in California. I give it a call and lo and behold, an American. I give the woman my information and everything that has happened, I tell her all the things that they told me including having to go pick it up myself. She says that it says in the notes that they told me that and that they were being ridiculous. She investigates and apparently someone with the same last name as me called in, the operator did not go through the correct channels to verify them and my account and this C. Price's account got mixed up. So now some stranger in Florida has my computer with all my info on it.

They told me they will try to get the computer back and if not they will replace it. I told the woman that it would be great if they got mine back, but it doesn't make up for the fact that all my private and personal information is stored on it and my identity could easily be stolen, plus if I don't get it back those photos of my kids that were not backed up are gone forever.

So I filed a police report and changed passwords on some accounts, but this person has had my info since Monday, so who knows what is happening. I haven't heard back from HP, but I am contacting a lawyer and see if any legal actions should be taken. I have never done anything like this or had anything like this happen to me but I am at a loss.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01846769369643533419noreply@blogger.com4
